← Conversions for X Ads

Setup guide

  1. Install Conversions for X Ads into your CRM business account. Open X Ads Conversions from its menu, then Open setup dashboard.
  2. In X Ads Manager → Tools → Events Manager, select your X Pixel. Copy the Pixel ID and the Event ID for each conversion type.
  3. Connect using your Events Manager Pixel access token where available. X documents this token in Install Pixel → Manual → Conversion API → Generate access token. For an Ads API application, select OAuth 1.0a and enter its consumer key, consumer secret, user access token and token secret. Your user must manage the ad account and the application must have Ads API access. The app never displays saved credentials.
  4. Add Send X Ads Conversion from Installed apps in the workflow builder. Map the X Event ID, a unique Conversion ID, and email, phone, twclid or customer IP plus user agent.
  5. Validate only checks locally without sending. To test delivery, use a dedicated QA event and synthetic data. Send to X Ads sends a real API request; X may count it. Require an ACCEPTED receipt and check Events Manager.

Event ID versus Conversion ID

Event ID identifies a configured conversion type in X Events Manager. Conversion ID identifies one occurrence, such as an order or booking. Reuse the same Conversion ID for retries and the corresponding browser Pixel event. Never place personal data in either ID.

Matching and retries

Email is trimmed, lowercased and SHA-256 hashed. Phone is normalized to E.164 (including + and country code) before hashing. Existing SHA-256 values are preserved. twclid is sent unchanged. This app accepts original timestamps from the past 7 days and suppresses confirmed duplicates for 48 hours. Configure retry paths in the workflow when required.

Permissions and disconnect

oauth.readonly identifies installed accounts; workflows.readonly enables Marketplace workflow actions. No contact or messaging permissions are requested. Disconnect deletes the saved X connection and delivery receipts for the account. Revoke credentials in X and manage the Marketplace subscription separately.
